The prospective dates for the launch of replacement narrowbody jets to take the place of the current Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 families may not now appear until 2020 according to both airframers and enginemakers at ILA, Berlin’s air show.

Germany signed a contract with Eurocopter at ILA, Berlin’s air show yesterday for the retrofit of six more CH53G transport helicopters to be converted for special missions with the German Army.

The first Russian ship carrying equipment for the Soyuz launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, will start its journey in July, Anatoly Perminov, head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos told journalists at ILA.

Volga-Dnepr took time out from flying charter freight and humanitarian aid by dropping into ILA with one of its Antonov AN-124-100-150 Ruslans yesterday.

Gulf Air doubled the number of Airbus aircraft in its fleet when the Bahrain based airline placed a firm order for 35 aircraft at the show yesterday.
The order comprises 15 A320 single aisle aircraft and 20 A330-300s. The contract was signed by Björn Näf, Gulf Air CEO, and Tom Enders, Airbus President and ceo.
