Aircraft interiors EXPO: Future focus on economy split

The airline industry will be looking at greater segmentation in its economy cabins in order to regain value from passengers.

“My vision of the future is that there will be a lot more premium economy cabins as we see a division between tourist economy passengers and premium economy passengers,” said Klaus Brauer, Boeing’s director, passenger satisfaction and revenue, speaking at yesterday’s opening press conference.

The packed conference heard how both the Airbus A350XWB and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner were designed with flexibility in mind in order to cater for the changing demands of the airlines.
