Unusual incidents in aviation

Many times the reality surpasses the fiction. Here are some examples:
- The pilots of an Air India flight fell asleep in the cockpit and bypassed the destination airport with more than 100 kilometers. After failing to response, the air traffic controllers in Mumbai activated an alarm to wake them up. The aircraft was carrying 100 passengers on board.
- Passengers of a BMI flight from Aberdeen (Scotland) to Faro (Portugal) had to wait 6 hours in the air before landing, because one of the flight attendants was drunk.
- A flight arriving from Popayan (Columbia) had to delay landing because the only air traffic controller on duty was out for lunch.
- Passengers started to panic when detected a sickening smell from the ventilation system during a BA flight between Belgrade and London. Fearing a terrorist attack, the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing. It turned out that the source was a package of curry that had split open.
